Hi, I’m Blue!

For more than 30 years, I’ve engaged in rich, meaningful collaborations that impact the careers and corporations of C-level and senior leaders. I’m an award-winning strategic thinker and writer who savors the challenges inherent in developing brands and core thought leadership. Those with whom I collaborate enjoy the fruits of our partnerships both in their current posts and when they make a new career move. For me and my co-creators, it leads to satisfying work and strong relationships that last a lifetime.

My work is informed by a grounding in brand building accrued during my rise to senior leadership across three firms: Connors Communications (New York), Allison Worldwide (San Francisco) and Zer0 to 5ive (Philadelphia). Throughout my career, my journalism and film/video degrees have made me a critical go-to resource for strategic ghostwritten content, brand creation and storytelling. Core to all of it is my ability to listen, distill and develop work that feels right to my clients while resonating and galvanizing their audiences.

I loved my agency career, and when it felt like it was time – more than a decade ago – I struck out on my own so that I could more thoroughly set the course of my collaborations. I’ve served as the principal of my own firm since 2010.

The perspectives I bring to client engagements are fortified by unique life situations that have deepened my personal and professional journeys.

First, I am a parent. If you’re a parent who is really involved in the life your kids, you know this makes a difference in how you see the world and approach your work and life. It’s beautiful, jagged and perspective rich.

I’ve also lived in every region of the United States except New England and Alaska. I   am a world traveler. That means I’m fluent in the culture, customs and personalities of domestic audiences while deeply understanding the critical elements and required EQ to reach cross-border audiences.

My work is deeply informed by my spiritual journey, which places a premium on the silence of the mystics and the road less travelled. This imbues me with a humanity, integrity and empathy that emerges across my work.

I currently live in a Colorado mountain town with my wife, our two kids (12 and 5) and our cat, Niko. I’m a committed Tottenham Hotspur supporter. I bleed Tennessee orange. I really love my life.
